The Co-operate and Cook book was developed by the Outreach Officers from the Co-operative College in Manchester, where the National Co-operative Archive is based. Co-operate and Cook is a bespoke vintage inspired recipe book of tested recipes from the Co-operate and Cook Project, with some additional dishes to tempt the taste buds. The cooking courses were part of a project organised by the Outreach Team, Rochdale and District Mind, Link for Life and Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale NHS for the local community to lead up to the reopening of the Rochdale Pioneers Museum.
Those taking part in the cooking course said they greatly enjoyed the sessions and have tried the recipes at home for their friends and family to share. One of the aspiring cooks said that her confidence had been increased as she was now more aware of the value of healthy eating. Participants said that the workshops were great to learn to relax and enjoy the skill of cooking whilst making new friends.
The Co-operate and Cook book is available to download (Co-operate and Cook). Why not try out some of these recipes for yourself?
