The volunteers of Co-operatives History Group (Rochdale) have worked in partnership with Rochdale Council, Rochdale Pioneers Museum and Link4Life in order to raise awareness on the co-operative history in the Borough. The volunteers have undertaken extensive researches to identify the shops, mills, residential development and other buildings linked to the different co-operative branches, which are priceless elements of the built heritage in Rochdale Borough.
The trails were developed as part of the Five Ways to Wellbeing initiative. Three trails have been created for the towns of Heywood, Littleborough and Milnrow plus three information leaflets covering the areas of Middleton, Wardle and Smallbridge.
A programme of other events linked to the trails can be found here.
